Course Overview
This course focuses on exploring the perspectives of a range of groups in Australia / the world. We will look at a range of texts on contemporary issues – these could include human rights, gender, ethnicity, racism, social class, diversity and power. The opportunity to challenge your own thinking and to further develop skills in presenting opinions will be provided. Student voice will be encouraged within and beyond the classroom. Group work and class discussion will be a regular feature.
Stage 1 Society and Culture could lead students to a study of Humanities subjects at Stage 2 – including Media Studies, Women’s Gender Studies or Politics, People and Power.
